Day 340 - What? A Video?? UPDATE: Also, Humphrey's Peak

As I plunge into the Grand Canyon for a few days, please take a look at a pilot video for a potential YouTube channel I've been considering. It would have a cooking series as well as other themes. All would be trying to paint the perspective of someone living in a Saturn. Christian and I were even brainstorming a series of photoshop tutorials hosted from the Saturn (that would may or may not involve excessive drinking in order to hopefully improve the humor). If people think it's decent enough, maybe I'll try and put out a few more. Otherwise, feel free to tell me to stick to photography.

UPDATE 1: Thanks for the love y'all! Got enough positive feedback to convince me to try a few more videos. We'll see how it goes!

UPDATE 2: As I drove towards the Grand Canyon, I was mystified, engrossed, and completely gripped by the view of a tall snowy peak in the distance. A quick Google search told me that it was Humphrey's Peak, at 12,637 feet, the tallest point in Arizona. Best part was that the hike to the top was only a 5 mile trail starting at a ski resort below. I was sold.

Once again, very ill-prepared for these wintry conditions. Maybe I shouldn't have followed that group off-trail...
Very steep ascent, but beautiful landscape
The last half mile wasn't much of a "trail", but you can see the summit in the distance!

The summit! It was very cold and INCREDIBLY WINDY. I'm not good at reading wind speeds but there were at least 40mph gusts. Exposed skin was numbed almost immediately.
After hiking down, I was greeted with one of the most splendid sunsets I've ever seen. Perfect way to end a hike.
The 3,500 foot elevation gain to the summit was quite rugged, but oh so worth it. Officially the highest point I've been so far. I think I'm hooked on Mountaineering... Time to start bagging those 14ers!

    1. That's the goal! My inconveniences and struggles should be your brief entertainment in between meetings.
