Before I get into the awesomeness of Tonsai and you see all of the pretty photos, let me first start with the bad stuff you don't see or read about.
Trash. There's lot of it. In the water, on the beach, on the side of all the roads. I don't think the proper infrastructure is in place to handle this level of tourism and no one is held accountable for litter.
The water. The water from the pipes isn't exactly pure. This is of course the case for many developing nations, but I feel like it's next level here. Also, I've been told that the sewage is just pumped into the bay. Many people have issues with even small cuts getting severely infected. There's also the dreaded "Tonsai Tummy". It's only day 2 and I've already woken up in the middle of the night with a bought of diarrhea and vomiting. I spent 2 months in South America and never got sick.
Okay enough of that. I just wanted to elude to the side of beach resorts that most people don't talk about. With that said, the scenery is absolutely stunning in every direction and the climbing is top notch (albeit severely polished from massive traffic of climbers).
The view from most walls here will never get old.
Right on the beach is some serious try-hard climbing. It's right next to a bar so you get a constant audience cheering people on.
Climbing right through sunset on the beach was certainly something I've never done before. Despite emptying the contents of my stomach and bowels at 3 AM, I still really can't complain!
