New friend Junior showing me the moves on an awesome climb [~5.10c]. Some quick and technical moves out of the roof (note the toe hook in the photo) get you to an easier face finish. |
This 13 year old was crushing it on lead. |
Keren working her second ever rope climb outside. She soon learned the definition of getting pumped. |
Chris working his 2nd rope climb outside as well and Keren learning how to belay. They're both psyched and I'm looking forward to climbing with them when we're all back in Mass. |

Took Keren and Chris out to Los Olivos for their first experience climbing on ropes outside. We were also joined by Williams and his friend Junior. We tried some easy stuff and some hard stuff. After a month of not climbing, I was very happy to put down a couple 10+/11- climbs. Overall it was an awesome day at the crag. Today we rested our sore muscles and tomorrow I'll be hiking the 4 hours to Lake Churup to explore some more of this incredible landscape.
