Day 365 - The Year-Long Project Is Finished! Happy New Year!

Keepin' it real classy at the Boulder Station Casino.
The view of the downtown fireworks from Boulder Station. Neat, but a little too far away to be amazed.
Had a quiet New Years Eve day with the extended family, then met up with my Colorado friends once they flew into the city. Since downtown would have been a nightmare, we stayed near their motel at Boulder Station Casino. It was a low key but fun way to ring in 2016. We were able to get to the top of the parking garage to watch the fireworks go off downtown. It was my first New Year spent outside of New England which felt strange... Almost as if I should have celebrated at 9:00, not midnight.

Also, I made it through my photo-a-day project!!! I made it through some stressful days trying to find something to post or playing catch-up, but I also felt like I grew a lot as a photographer. Being forced to have my camera on me every day, constantly in search of interesting or special moments, helped me develop a more connected awareness of everything around me (at least I hope it did). I have to admit though that I'm kind of excited that I can now leave my camera behind without stressing out about the day's photo.

Without getting sappy or anything like that, I want to thank all of you who have followed my blog throughout the project. I most likely would have quit halfway through if it weren't for all of you religiously checking the blog and sharing your thoughts, responses and compliments with me. With everyone having such busy lives, it meant a lot that you managed to find time to check in on my random and sometimes uninteresting life. It meant more than I probably expressed.

Given that I'm traveling and would love to continue to share my experiences with you, I'm going to continue to update this blog regularly, however it won't be every day. Only when I have interesting photos or want to check in and report on my vitals and whereabouts. Also, I'm kind of enjoying making videos in the Saturn as I spill or burn things so I'll probably keep those going too.

Thank you all so much and I hope everyone has an amazing 2016 full of whatever it is that makes you happy. Miss you all very much and can't wait to see everyone again!
